Actor Chris Hemsworth is rumoured to have been cast in the title role in the upcoming "Thor", directed by Kenneth Branagh.

Although only a minor hit, studio New Line have decided to line up a sequel to last year's 3D adventure "Journey To The Centre Of The Earth". Starring Brendan Fraser, it was a modern take on the classic Jules Verne tale.

New Line have hired the first film's writer to blend stories "Mysterious Island", "Treasure Island" and "Gulliver's Travels" into another exciting 3D event for Fraser and co.

Warner Bros have announced (it's on the Empire website, so does that make it official?) plans to make a film version of Stephen King's novel "IT".

This is exciting news. Although the mini-series is a fantastic watch (it genuinely scared me as a kid!), it is a bit dated now, so an updated version could do very well.

Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg are set to join forces in the new comedy from the Will Ferrell/Andy McKay team that brought us hits like "Anchorman" and "Step Brothers".

All we know is that Ferrell and Wahlberg are set to play a pair of cops, but this pairing could be interesting. Ferrell's knack for off the cuff humour and Wahlberg's action star status could be a good mix.

"Empire" reports that Columbia Pictures have announced their plans to remake the 90's sci-fi actioner "Total Recall". Based on the novel by Philip K. Dick, this was a huge hit for Arnold Schwarzenegger, with it's bone-crunching violence and complex plot.

Although the effects now look dated, we can't find any real reason to remake this - we are big fans of the original.

With "Drag Me To Hell", released this Summer, seeing Spiderman saviour Sam Raimi back in his horror roots, Empire reports that Raimi has more chills up his sleeve.

Comingsoon.net reports that Tom Cruise is close to signing to star in David Cronenberg's next picture, "The Matarese Circle".

With Denzel Washington already on board, the two stars will portray a pair of spies who have spent years trying to kill one another. However, when a sinister group, known as "The Matarese", target the pair, they must reluctantly join forces to expose them.

After years of rumour and speculation, the long-awaited sequel to Disney's cult classic Tron is finally a reality!

The Comic-Con fesitival in NYC has unveiled the first teaser trailer and we are pleased to report that it looks awesome!

After the box office success of "Twilight", the next book in the series was immediately given the green light.
